DBasia.news –  According to reports from Spanish media, Sport-English, Ivan Rakitic, the Barcelona midfielder, walked home from El Prat Airport due to a traffic jam in Catalunya, Spain.

As is known, the conditions in Catalonia heated up related to the decision of the Spanish Supreme Court to imprison nine Catalan separatist leaders for nine to 13 years. This continues the old case of the referendum and the issue of Catalunya’s freedom from Spain.

FC Barcelona, a club from Catalunya, showed their attitude by giving a firm statement addressed to the Spanish Government.

“FC Barcelona, as one of Catalonia’s references, and following its historical trajectory, of the defense of freedom of expression and the right to decide, today, after the sentence issued by the Supreme Court is related to an open process against Catalan civil and political leaders.”

“In the same way that pre-trial detention does not help resolve conflicts, the prison will also not be issued today, because prison is not a solution. The settlement of conflicts experienced by Catalonia exclusively through political dialogue” explained an official statement from Barcelona.

“As a result, now more than ever, the club calls on all policymakers to lead the dialogue and negotiation process to resolve this conflict, which must also allow the release of convicted civil and political leaders.”

“Proud to be part of this club,” said Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, chiming in his club’s statement. The impact of the decision of the Supreme Court (Supreme Court) was very large.

Protesters blocked the road to El Prat airport and several people, including Rakitic, chose to walk to look for public transportation outside the protest area.

Rakitic, 31, returned from his duty to defend Croatia’s national team in the international break this time. The former Sevilla player was seen pulling a suitcase and walking from pictures taken publicly with a Twitter account @PREC96.

Rakitic played in the continued group match of the 2020 European Cup Qualifiers when Croatia won 3-0 over Hungary, and when Croatia drew 1-1 against Wales.
