Troy Deeney Accused Walter Mazzarri As A Liar

Troy Deeney

DBasia.news – As the team captain, Troy Deeney was one of Watford key players who performed surprisingly in the 2018-2019 Premier League. As we know, Javi Garcia squad swept away all the victories in four matches.

But before the success, this season, Watford’s achievement was stuck. Deeney even explained that he almost left the team under the leadership of Italian coach, Walter Mazzarri.

The relationship between the 30-year-old player with Mazzarri was bad. He even bluntly mentioned Mazzarri as a liar.

“I didn’t get on with him from the start. I tried to be respectful but then there were times when I was scoring, the team was winning and the next game I was on the bench,” Deeney said.

Treated like that, Deeney tried to communicate it directly to Mazzarri. He asked if he’d done something wrong. But the man who currently coach Torino FC said that he played great.

But he was surprised knowing in January transfer market, Mazzarri listed his name on the list.

“I asked if I was available to be sold and was told ‘no we need you, you’re the captain, you’re everything’ – and next thing you know he is still trying to sell me behind my back,” Deeney explained.

Until now, Deeney doesn’t know for sure why Mazzarri underestimates him.
