DBasia.news – AFTER to qualify for the Malaysia Cup, Kelantan is determined to pursue the rhythm despite having a tough test facing Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Kedah in Group C.
KAFA president Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan said although placed in Group C with Super League champions JDT, Kedah and MIFA, however, the ranks of Kelantan youth players under coach trainee Yusri Che Lah are ready to take on the challenges facing elite status teams.
“Kelantan needs to maintain momentum by stealing at least one point from the opponent’s side and take the chance to accumulate three points in their own home.
“Kelantan’s young players have proven they are able to scare elite status teams after beating Pahang 2-1 in last Sunday’s Super League rivals.
“But we will not put a high target as it is the first exposure to the young players in the fighting for this prestigious trophy, but the challenge is not easy, but it’s far more intense than the Super League,” he said here today.
Kelantan will face Kedah on Sunday at Stadium Darul Aman, Alor Setar.
Commenting on the prospective coach who will replace Fajer Ebrahim, he admitted that he was discussing with some of his candidates but agreed to retain Yusri Che Lah’s post to announce the next candidate.
According to him, despite using almost all the young players’ service but the player managed to show a brilliant performance and unexpectable results in the Super League.
“As KAFA president, the positive results achieved in the Malaysia Cup will be able to restore the state’s recent soccer performance, which is rather gloomy,” he said.
