Tuchel comments on Lukaku’s Return to Inter Milan

DBasia.news – Romelu Lukaku has recently been linked with a return to Inter Milan in the summer. Thomas Tuchel insists, Lukaku is still important for Chelsea.

The Belgian striker failed to live up to expectations after signing the Blues for 115 million euros in 2021. In his second spell in West London, Lukaku has only scored 12 goals in 34 appearances.

Lukaku has even played as a substitute several times in the Premier League this season. Tuchel prefers to change the position of Kai Havertz to play as a striker.

The former Manchester United bomber is reported to be unhappy with Chelsea and wants to return to Inter Milan. As is known, Lukaku had two successful seasons in Italy by winning the Scudetto last season.

Tuchel rejects rumors of Romelu Lukaku’s departure. Moreover, Inter are in short supply, while the Blues are facing an uncertain situation regarding the ownership of the club.

“We didn’t even imagine it (the news of Lukaku wanting to leave). We can’t talk to players. We can’t sell or buy,” said Tuchel in Metro.

“So for now, we don’t think about it at all. Those are the players we have and Romelu still plays a big part,” continued the former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain coach.

“I feel he is very motivated and very strong in training. Very involved when we play games. He is a winner and will continue to be a winner. He will still be important for us. He had a good game against Middlesbrough anyway and that is a big boost for us and important for him,” said Tuchel on the issue of Lukaku’s departure.
