Tuchel Hopes There Is Good News About Andreas Christensen’s Contract Situation

DBasia.news – Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel stressed that Andreas Christensen’s contract situation was being handled with care and he hoped for some good news in the coming days.

As is known, the Denmark international has entered the final year of his stay at Stamford Bridge and has yet to sign a contract extension.

However, Chelsea are believed to want to keep Andreas Christensen and are still in talks over a new contract for the 25-year-old defender.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash with Leicester City, Tuchel revealed that the process is still ongoing and being handled maturely, including Antonio Rudiger’s contract.

“Of course. They were handled with the utmost care and respect, and it was very clear. There are definitely some things pending regarding Toni and Christensen at the moment,” the German coach said in his press conference, quoted by SportsIllustrated.

“For Christensen, from my point of view, everyone wants the same thing. The coach wants the same thing, the club wants the same thing and the players want the same thing.”

“Obviously, I expect good news in the days to come. Every case is different. You could end up in a situation like this but the situation was handled by all parties very carefully, very calmly and very maturely. So, during the process we were able to produce the looks we needed to fulfill our goals. That’s the most important thing.”
