DBasia.news – U19 Indonesia national team will challenge the Asian giant, Japan, in the quarter-final of 2018 U19 Asian Cup. Indonesia dramatically qualified for the quarter-final. But there is one obvious weak spot of Indra Sjafri squad.
The weakness is the defense. U19 Indonesia national team defender Firza Andika admits that. He said the team need to improve the defense.
Moreover, throughout the qualification round, Garuda Nusantara got conceded 7 times.
Statistically, Japan were dominant in the qualification phase. In total, Japan created 13 goals. Best among all the contestants.
“I have to improve the defense, it’s still weak. I will do the best to avoid conceded,” Firza said.
The 7-goals conceded from 3 matches makes Indra Sjafri criticized the defense. Apparently, the highlight didn’t make Firza disappointed.
“It wasn’t a pressure. In the team, there is no pressure at all. We play on the pitch, hence we should think about the strategy,” Firza said.
“U19 Japan have the speed and great individual skills. Hence, we have to anticipate the pressure,” the PSMS Medan defender said.
