UEA Moved to Group C After Iraq’s Withdrawal

DBasia.news – The drawing was conducted for football in 2018 Asian Games due to Iraq’s withdrawal. The drawing on Friday (3/8) after the withdrawal confirmed by OCA and INASGOC.

It was the third time the drawing happened. On July 5, the first drawing conducted with 24 teams.

The redrawing conducted to involve Palestine and the United Arab Emirates n the group division.

Both countries had the redrawing after Iraq exit. Based on the new drawing result, UAE moved to Group C with China, Timor Leste, and Syria.

While Group C was initially filled with Iraq. UEA was in Group E previously together with South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, and Bahrain.

While Palestine stayed in Group A with the host country Indonesia, Hong Kong, Laos, and Taiwan.

The redrawing made Group A consisted of 5 countries, while the next drawing 4 countries.

The drawing result:

Group A: Indonesia, Hong Kong, Laos, Taiwan, Palestine

Group B: Thailand, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Qatar

Group C: United Arab Emirates, China, Timor Leste, Syria

Group D: Japan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nepal

Group E: South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Bahrain

Group F: North Korea , Saudi Arabia, Iran, Myanmar
