DBasia.news – Arsenal manager Unai Emery talks about the future of one of Premier League veteran goalkeepers, Petr Cech. He admits that he has no idea about that. It’s the deal between the goalkeeper and Arsenal board of directors.
Petr Cech started the season as Arsenal main goalkeeper. But, slowly his position is replaced by Germany goalkeeper, Bernd Leno after the injury.
At that time, Petr Cech had a hamstring injury since September 2018. Consequently, Bernd Leno replaced Cech’s position as Arsenal main goalkeeper.
The situation makes Petr Cech assumed would leave Arsenal. The Czech Republic goalkeeper can’t stand the fact that he often benched.
Responding to his future, the Spaniard manager admits that he has no idea. Unai Emery is delighted of Cech’s performance so far.
“I don’t know about Petr’s long-term future. That is for the club and player to deal with,” Unai Emery said.
“His commitment and behavior have not changed. He has shown respect for our decision and our other keeper and I am happy with that.”
“All situations like this, we will speak with the player and with the club but at the moment, I want his focus the same, each training, each match,” Unai Emery added.
Petr Cech was signed by Arsenal from Chelsea in 2015. During the period with The Gunners, the 36-year-old goalkeeper won two FA Cup (2015 and 2017), also FA Cup (2016-2017.
