DBasia.news – Arsenal manager Unai Emery asked Aaron Ramsey to set aside the contract extension and focus on the pitch. Emery assumed the duty to extend the contract is not his job.
Aaron Ramsey had an up and down performance in the two initial matches of Premier League. When The Gunners played against Manchester City, Ramsey joined the starting lineup. But at the match against Chelsea, he sat on the bench.
Emery felt the contract extension became the problem behind Ramsey’s performance. The Spanish manager insisted Ramsey to focus on the match.
“I spoke with him last week. I said: I want you focused only on training and only on the match, you show us the capacity to help the team,” Emery said quoted by FourFourTwo.
Currently, Ramsey’s contract extension in Arsenal is stuck. If the agreement failed, he could leave Emirates Stadium with free transfer status.
Based on the issue in England, some clubs are getting ready to offer the contract if Ramsey’s negotiation with Arsenal is deadlock. Recently, Barcelona and Chelsea are ready to recruit the 27-year-old player.
“The contract is another thing for his agent and the club but we want and I need his focus only on training, only on the match and on his performance each day,” the manager continued.
Aaron Ramsey has been supporting Arsenal since 2008-2009 season. Until now, the Wales player scored 62 goals and 60 assists in all matches.
