DBasia.news – Former Italian striker, Antonio Cassano has denied the opinion of Antonio Conte, the Inter Milan coach, regarding his team’s style of play. Cassano does not agree that Il Nerazzurri is said to have had a good game.
As is known Conte recently mentioned after Inter’s 3-0 win over Genoa, assessing that his team could ‘talk a lot’ in the Champions League if they were not eliminated in the group phase. He saw that his team played well.
Because currently Inter are at the top of the standings with 56 points from 24 matches, four points adrift of AC Milan, who are in second place in the standings.
“If only we were still in the Champions League at the moment, I think we can say a lot in the tournament,” said Conte some time ago.
Cassano responded immediately. He considered Inter did not play in a good style of football, even though he currently topped the Serie A standings. Cassano also considered the level of football in Serie A to be different from Europe.
“Does Conte understand he’s not (Pep) Guardiola? What is his opinion in the Champions League? Come on. I’m not foolish, Serie A is mediocrity, Europe is another thing. Inter didn’t dominate,” Cassano told Bobo TV on Twitch.
“They have played differently to (Christian) Eriksen, they appeared more solid, but they are not playing good football. Atalanta played it.”
“Inter stayed deep and waited for their opponent’s move, then they try to reach (Romelu) Lukaku with long balls.”
“Inter have to win the title. They will win it (Serie A). But they are not playing well.”
“If Conte makes a serious mistake, it’s only his fault. Inter are ridiculous in the Champions League. They finished (group stage) behind Shakhtar (Donetsk).”
Antonio Conte (51 years old) has entered his second year coaching Inter Milan. In that period the team hasn’t won a trophy but the club has invested in signing Lukaku, Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Christian Eriksen and Nicolo Barella.
