DBasia.news –  Anil Murthy, President of Valencia, expressed his desire to build a new stadium for the club.

“Valencia is now closer than ever to inaugurate the new stadium which will be built in 2022/23. This week, we received an increased offer for our project,” Murthy said as quoted by Marca, Saturday (10/14/2019).

“The sale of the Mes Talla stadium will enable us to build a new stadium. There is only one final push that is needed, namely support from local and regional governments for this project, “he added.

Furthermore, Murthy also said that the construction of the new stadium project is expected to not affect the positive image of the club. Murthy is worried about many negative stories about the construction of a new stadium for a club.

“Of course we will ensure that this project does not carry a negative image for the club. We will ensure that everything goes well even though I am sure some people are trying to damage the negative image,” he concluded.

Valencia has been using the Mestalla Stadium since 1923. They played their first match at the stadium against Levante on May 20, 1923.
