Van De Beek and Sancho haven’t shined, Solskjaer’s ability is questioned

DBasia.news – Former Arsenal player Paul Merson has questioned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ability to bring out the best in Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho. According to him, Solskjaer’s position as a Manchester United tactician is at stake.

Manchester United realized their dream of signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund last summer. To be able to hook Sancho, the Red Devils spent 85 million euros.

Unfortunately, until now, Sancho has not shown the performance as expected. Of the nine matches, the former Manchester City has not scored a goal or assist.

As a result, Solskjaer’s ability has been questioned. Moreover, Solskjaer also failed to make another expensive Man United player, Donny van de Beek, shine.

“There isn’t a lot of time when a team is playing badly and has two players who were purchased for 110 million pounds but are on the bench,” Merson said as reported by the Daily Star.

“Solskjaer’s job is at stake. Especially his inability to bring out the potential of Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek.”

“The confidence of both players seems to have disappeared. For me, the only way to get them to rise is to keep playing them,” said Merson.

Then, Meson took the example of when Dennis Bergkamp joined Arsenal. The performance of the Dutch player has increased after continuing to gain confidence in appearing.

“When Bergkamp joined Arsenal he struggled for the first four or three games. However, Arsenal believed and he suddenly got up, ran and became the best foreign player in the club’s history.”

“Sancho has a tag of 70 million pounds and his ability is unquestionable. So, Manchester United needs to stay with him,” stated Merson.
