DBasia.news – Dutch midfielder, Donny van de Beek has entered his second year playing for Manchester United. Van de Beek was loaned to Everton in 2022 and is currently playing under his former coach at Ajax Amsterdam, Erik ten Hag.
Being coached by Ten Hag did not immediately lift the confidence and performance of the 25-year-old player, Van de Beek is still struggling to play regularly. Ten Hag still gave him a chance in the rotation he implemented.
However, if his performance does not improve or even gets worse, like when Man United lost 1-3 against Aston Villa, Van de Beek has the option to leave in the player transfer market. Man United legend Patrice Evra has some advice for him.
Reflecting on the experiences of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sanchez in the past, Evra suggested Van de Beek to move to a club or place where he is loved.
“My advice to him is that he (Van de Beek) has to go somewhere where he feels loved. The problem in England, not just Manchester, is that people don’t respect him. He’s a great player,” he told Betfair.
“He reminds me of Mkhitaryan and Sanchez when they struggled at United. When these things happen you have to go. He lost his time.”
Mkhitaryan and Sanchez used to be players known for their qualities as an attacking midfielder and forward. But when they joined Man United, their performance slumped until they were finally sold.
