DBasia.news –  Matthijs de Ligt is still trying to adapt to Juventus’ football culture. According to his compatriot, Virgil van Dijk, De Ligt remained calm undergoing the adaptation process.

If included as a bonus, Matthijs de Ligt would be the most expensive defender in the world. Juventus brought the player in for with no less than 85 million euros.

However, up to the first two Serie A matches, De Ligt still failed to prove that the Bianconeri were not wrong to have spent exorbitant funds. In the first match against Parma, De Ligt only became a substitute. Afterwards, when against Napoli, the 20-year defender’s performance was considered disappointing.

“I see Matthijs de Ligt coming in a normal way. There is nothing wrong with him. Everyone who knows him will understand he will always be calm in situations like this,” said Van Dijk as reported by Goal.

“Of course I have talked to him. However, we don’t need to talk much with each other,” explained the former Southampton player.

Virgil van Dijk and Matthijs de Ligt are predicted to be the cross bar when the Netherlands face Germany on Matchday 5 Group C of the 2020 European Cup qualification, at Volksparkstadion, Saturday (7/9) AM. Currently, the Netherlands are ranked third after winning one victory and one defeat.

“Afterwards, we will focus ahead and the match where we were paired as a defender. So that’s what we did,” Van Dijk stated.

Matthijs de Ligt was transformed as one of the most glowing defenders in Europe after bringing Ajax Amsterdam through the 2018-2019 Champions League semifinals. Juventus won the competition with the Manchester duo, Real Madrid and Barcelona who were also interested in the player.
