DBasia.news – Victor Osimhen looks set to make his way to Arsenal. The agent of the Napoli superstar himself flew to London last week to have a meeting with Arsenal, to discuss the negotiation process for his client.
Osimhen’s agent met face to face with Arsenal’s technical director, Edu. In the talks between the two, it is believed that there are negotiations regarding the appropriate dowry for the striker.
However, several sources close to Napoli stated that president Aurelio De Laurentiis was not in the mood to sell any of his assets.
Moreover, the offers that were presented did not meet expectations. The president is certainly reluctant to sit at the same table with interested clubs if they offer at a lower price than expected.
Laurentiis demanded interested clubs to come forward with an offer proposal worth £68 million, including Arsenal. This transfer is said to be a good prospect for Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Even so, the Gunners will have their own problems regarding their situation at the end of the 2021/22 season.
As is known, Napoli will appear in the Champions League next season. Meanwhile, Arsenal will ‘only’ play in Europe’s second tier competition, aka the Europa League.
Osimhen will have objection if he has to ‘downgrade’ by playing in the Europa League while he has a chance to play in the Champions League if he stays with the Partenopei.
