Vlahovic’s Productivity at Juventus Continues to Decline

DBasia.news – 81.6 million euros. That’s the money Juventus spent in January 2022 (winter transfer market) to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina. Vlahovic arrived with Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Juventus need sharp attackers when Alvaro Morata, Moise Kean, and Paulo Dybala appear windy. In addition, Vlahovic can be a long-term asset because he is only 22 years old.

Judging by Transfermarkt, Vlahovic came to Turin with a record 49 goals and eight assists from 108 matches with Fiorentina. But so far the Serbia international has scored just five goals in 12 games at Juventus – plus two assists.

According to data from Football-Italy, Vlahovic’s goal ratio has dropped dramatically since moving to Juventus, one goal every 199 minutes. That’s changed from playing for Fiorentina this season with 20 goals in 24 games under Vincenzo Italiano.

That’s like one goal every 102 minutes. Last season with Giuseppe Iachini and Cesare Prandelli as Fiorentina coaches, Vlahovic scored 21 goals in 40 Fiorentina appearances – one every 147 minutes.

Several factors contributed to the decline in Vlahovic’s sharpness, such as the process of adapting to Massimiliano Allegri’s style of football at Juventus. Even so Vlahovic is one factor in the rise of the club.

After Vlahovic and Zakaria arrived, Juventus’ performance improved until they were able to enter the top four of Serie A. Before being defeated by Inter Milan in the Derby d’Italia, Juventus were unbeaten in 16 consecutive matches.

It’s still too early to judge Vlahovic’s current appearance at Juventus. From the level of play, talent, and young age, Vlahovic has bright prospects and is one of the hot commodities besides Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
