DBasia.news – Legendary Inter Milan goalkeeper Walter Zenga hopes the Nerazzurri this season can defend their Serie A title. However, Zenga thinks that this can only be realized if Inter are able to wipe out all the remaining matches.
In the first half of this season, Inter Milan was able to show a very impressive performance despite last summer’s major overhaul.
Even in November to December last year Inter had recorded eight consecutive wins in the league and made them claimed as the strongest candidate to become champions this season.
But unfortunately since the beginning of last February, Inter showed a declining performance until the end of March. This makes their current position in third place with a collection of 60 points or six points behind AC Milan at the top of the standings. But Inter still have a game in hand which leaves them with the possibility to close the gap.
Responding to the fierce competition towards the Serie A ladder this season, Walter Zenga gave his support for Inter to win their remaining nine matches and retain the Scudetto trophy. But Zenga did not deny that Milan and Napoli also have the same great opportunity.
“If I’m being honest, I hope Inter win the remaining nine games and win the Scudetto again,” Zenga told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Say in the case of the coach, Pioli, Spalletti and Inzaghi, where they each have a 33% chance of winning, because they are able to make their team play well,” he concluded.
