DBasia.news – FC Barcelona are eyeing two players, they are AS Roma wing striker Cengiz Under and Chelsea defender David Luiz. They are wanted for different reasons.
Express reported Barca are interested in recruit Luiz due to the urgency to get a new defender following Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen’s injury. Barca need the option for Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet who are prone to injury due to exhaustion.
Luiz, 31, entered his last contract period with Chelsea. Despite enjoying the trust to play for Maurizio Sarri, Luiz could leave this season due to Chelsea’s policy to only offer a one-year contract for players above 30.
Luiz perhaps could be Barca’s short-term solution for his experience and quality. The Brasilian player also plays the role as the central-back and defending midfielder. Luiz also able to execute the free-kick well.

Meanwhile, for Under, Sky Sports reported Barca see him as the potency to replace Lionel Messi who is now 31. Roma’s wing striker who is still 21 is developing fast under Eusebio Di Francesco.
Last season, Under has scored 7 goals in his first season with Roma after leaving Basaksehir. This season, he scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 12 matches. Just like Messi, Under also left-footed and replaced Mohamed Salah’s role in Roma.
Under’s contract with Roma will end in 2022. Considering his position as the long-term investment, Roma will put the transfer fee above 30 million euro or more, if Roma still remember the pain of Malcom’s tranfer, whereas Barca hijacked him during the transfer from Girondins Bordeaux.
