DBasia.news – Former Manchester United player Wayne Rooney has responded to the news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Manchester City. Rooney believes someone with a legacy at United like Ronaldo will not join City.
“It’s interesting, but I can’t see it. I don’t think someone with a legacy like Ronaldo will go to City,” Rooney was quoted as saying by Football Espana.
On the same occasion, Rooney also said his former team-mate had to think twice before making a decision. Rooney said Ronaldo also had to really think about everyone around him.
Rooney sets himself as an example. He insists he has never played for Manchester United’s rivals like Liverpool and Man City during his career as a player.
“I think I have to do what’s right for you, for the family. Everyone knows that I’ve never played for Liverpool or City. That’s clear, but everyone has their own way,” Rooney said.
Rooney played with Ronaldo at Manchester United from 2003 to 2009. The two became the most terrifying duo in the Premier League. With the Ronaldo-Rooney duo, Manchester United won three Premier titles, two League Cups, one FA Cup and one Champions League trophy.
