Wayne Rooney will be a Player-Coach in Derby County

DBasia.news –  According to news from British media, Wayne Rooney, the legend of Manchester United and Everton, will return to England and join Derby County.

The former England captain was seen arriving at Heathrow airport, England, on Tuesday (6/8) morning local time to immediately complete his transfer process to Derby. What is quite surprising is Wayne Rooney reportedly will not only carry out the role of a player, but also a coach.

Wayne Rooney actually still has two years left on contract with DC United. He just spent about a year playing in Major League Soccer.

The 33-year-old player had previously openly admitted that he would want to become a coach after retiring. Derby County is likely to be a place for Rooney to realize these desires while continuing his playing career.

The reason Wayne Rooney chose Derby as the next destination was quite interesting. As a player who is known to like the philosophy of Louis van Gaal’s football while training Manchester United, Rooney is interested in joining the Rams because they are now trained by Philip Cocu who is considered to have an approach that is not much different from Van Gaal.

The family’s reason is also said to be why Rooney chose to return to England sooner than his contract with DC United.

If nothing gets in the way, the announcement of Rooney’s move to Derby County could occur on Tuesday (6/8). Championship transfer market itself will be closed on the same day.
