DBasia.news – Weston McKennie is set to leave Juventus before the close of the January transfer window with English Premier League clubs vying for his signature. Nottingham Forest is also reportedly considering competing for the Juventus midfielder.
The 24-year-old player has agreed to personal terms with Leeds, although Juventus’ £31 million pounds ($38 million) asking price has proved to be a problem for the Premier League side. However, manager, Jesse Marsch wants to bring the player to join his United States team-mates Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson at Elland Road.
“McKennie will not be available tomorrow because he is in the center of negotiations. I think the club has found an agreement with his new team and therefore he will not be there tomorrow,” Allegri told reporters. “There won’t be new ammunition on the market, if McKennie leaves there will be Cuadrado, De Sciglio, Soule, who can also play from outside. If necessary, we will be able to change the structure. The important thing is to recover everyone.”
Nottingham Forest have signed Danilo and Chris Wood in the January transfer window and are also looking to sign goalkeeper Keylor Navas from Paris Saint-Germain. Steve Cooper’s team are currently 13th in the Premier League table, three points ahead of Leeds United, but have played more games than the Whites.
Ironically, Leeds United’s next Premier League match will be at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest, although it remains to be seen whether McKennie will be involved.
