DBasia.news – Bayern Munchen coach Hansi Flick is facing a dilemma to stay on to train Bayern or handle the German national team.
Some time ago, the head coach of the German national team, Joachim Low, announced that the 2021 European Cup would be his last event as der Panzer tactician.
The speculation of a potential replacement for Low has been blowing hard this week after Bayern were eliminated from the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday (14/4). Bayern were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain, the club they beat in last season’s final.
Flick tried to change the topic of conversation in the interview session after his team was bent by PSG. The former Low assistant asked a change of questions when asked about rumors of him coaching the German national team.
Bayern Germany’s honorary president, Franz Beckenbauer, asked Flick to immediately make his choice even though he is still under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2023.
“Of course he has to make a commitment to something,” Beckenbauer told Sport 1 as quoted by Goal.
“He will be overshadowed by the speculation. You also can not say ‘next question’ when asked that,” said the legend again.
Meanwhile, another ex-Bayern member, Lothar Matthaus, believes that Flick will become Der Panzer coach because the German Football Federation (DFB) has already decided.
“It was Flick’s last match in the Champions League with Bayern. The DFB made him the first choice as a successor to Joachim Low,” said Matthaus.
