Will Gnabry follow Lewandowski in leaving Bayern Munich?

DBasia.news – Serge Gnabry says his and Robert Lewandowski’s potential decision to find a new club isn’t just about money. Both are rumored to be leaving the Allianz Arena a year before the duration of their contracts with the Bundesliga champions expires, after turning down offers of renewal to stay at the club.

They are both currently on international duty with their respective national teams, but speaking about his future at Bayern, Gnabry insisted that the choice to find a new team had more to do with the club’s treatment of him.

“In my view, it’s a bit embarrassing how things go back and forth, as a team-mate, as part of the club,” Gnabry said when asked about the transfer rumours at Germany’s national team press conference. “That’s why I hope that somehow a peace deal will happen.”

“It’s not that each of us is only thinking about money. There are other things that play a big part in making you feel good.”

“Appreciation has to come from both sides – from club to player and from player to club.”

Lewandowski’s desire to leave Bayern has been made public recently, with the player declaring his career with the Bavarians is over.

However, with a year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena, the Polish star is relying heavily on a transfer deal and hopes a club will make up for it. Barcelona has so far emerged as a major fan, but is constrained by the financial crisis.

Bayern, on the other hand, are frustrated with the forward’s attitude. Meanwhile, English Premier League clubs Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with transfer rumors.

Meanwhile, Gnabry’s contract at Bayern is also due to expire next season and has so far been a target for transfers from Real Madrid and Liverpool amid the German giants’ attempts to woo him to stay.

However, it appears he will also consider leaving this summer with La Liga and the Premier League being his potential goals, as is Lewandowski.

Gnabry started his career in England, where he played for Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion.
