DBasia.news Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp felt quite relieved after his team was able to return to their winning ways in the Premier League. He doesn’t care if the positive result is achieved in a less than impressive manner.
Liverpool did manage to get up when they visited Wolverhampton Wanderers headquarters at Molineux Stadium, Tuesday (16/3) am, WIB. The Reds defeated the hosts by a score of 1-0.
Diogo Jota appeared as Liverpool’s hero. The former Wolverhampton player scored the only goal in first-half injury time.
Even so, Liverpool’s performance in the match could not be said to be good. Thiago Alcantara and his team mates were forced to work hard to serve Wolverhampton’s passionate game.
Liverpool even lost in the amount of ball possession and shots on goal. A record that certainly hasn’t made loyal supporters calm.
But Klopp doesn’t really care about these statistics. This victory is considered to be very important to raise the morale of his team.
“In the rest of the game it was clear that we defended a lot and I was really fine. That’s what I want to see us giving 100% and understand the situation correctly,” Klopp said on the club’s official website.
“It’s not about being Liverpool on a more boring night, it’s about being Liverpool and being ready to fight with all we have to achieve results.”
“I think Robbo (Robertson) called it three bad points, but I call it three gross points. I am very happy with these three points,” he added.
Getting closer to the Champions League zone
The victory against Wolverhampton is indeed crucial for Liverpool. Their chance to finish in the top four is now open again.
An additional three points brings Liverpool up to sixth place. Merseyside Red is only five points behind Chelsea who finished fourth.
