DBasia.news – RXavi Hernandez at Barcelona relies a lot on young players. Ferran Torres hopes his career can be smooth with the former Blaugrana player.
Barcelona managed to obtqain Ferran Torres from Manchester City. The Spanish club signed the 21-year-old striker for 55 million euros plus 10 million euros as a bonus that can be repaid in over 4 years.
He has signed a contract until 2027 with a release clause of 1 billion euros. Ferran Torres hopes his career can be brilliant in the hands of Xavi.
“I already know about Xavi’s career as a player, it is beautiful,” in his interview as quoted by Marca.
“Now, as a coach, he is just as good. He is just starting out, but I know he is the type of quality coach who can help me in my growth to become better and I am looking forward to being with him.”
Torres has been sidelined this season since late September due to a fractured leg and is still recovering. This delayed Torres’ debut until January 5 when Barcelona faced Linares in the Copa del Rey.
Torres is not expected to be fully fit to play in the match against Real Mallorca on January 2. Torres became Barcelona’s second purchase in the Xavi Hernandes era after Dani Alves, who was brought in for free.
Barcelona’s true pace has not been stable during Xavi’s management. Of the six LaLiga matches with Xavi, there have been three wins, two draws and one loss.
El Barca also still sit in seventh place in the LaLiga standings with 28 points, but only lost by two points to Rayo Vallecano as the fourth position occupant. When compared with Real Madrid as the top standings, Barca lost 18 points.
