DBasia.news – Barcelona failed to get past Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2021-2022 Europa League quarter-finals. The coach, Xavi Hernandez is reluctant to find reasons for this failure.

Barcelona surprisingly had to lose 2-3 to Frankfurt in the second leg at Camp Nou, Friday (15/4). This result made the Blaugrana lose 3-4 on aggregate.

Barcelona even had to fall behind three goals first. Filip Kostic’s two goals and a spectacular strike from Rafael Santos Borre Maury gave Frankfurt the upper hand.

Barcelona can only catch up in injury time. However, two goals from Sergio Busquets and Memphis Depay were not enough to prevent El Barca from losing.

Xavi was certainly disappointed with the result. Moreover, he is determined to present the Europa League trophy in his first season in charge of Barcelona.

“I want to congratulate Frankfurt. They deserve it,” Xavi said after the game.

“We don’t know how to attack well. We didn’t play like in other games and it’s a big disappointment.”

Barcelona actually appeared dominant in this match. The 75% of possesion was enough to describe it.

But it was like Barcelona had trouble dismantling Frankfurt’s defense. Of the ten experiments, only four lead to the goal.

Xavi must immediately fix this problem. Barcelona still has a chance to win the La Liga title even though it is relatively unlikely.
