Xherdan Shaqiri is Close to Fenerbahce

DBasia.news – There is a potential for Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri to leave and play for Fenerbahce.

The Swiss footballer joined the Premier League giants in July 2018 from Stoke City and it is hoped his presence will strengthen Liverpool’s attack line.

Unfortunately, Xherdan Shaqiri has struggled to play regularly with Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. This season, the player has only appeared in 18 matches in all competitions, scoring 1 goal and 5 assists. In fact, the coach often plays him as a substitute rather than a starter in the Premier League.

Interestingly, once played for the full 90 minutes the player failed to give Liverpool a victory against Fulham. At that time, the Reds lost 1-0 at Anfield (7/3). No doubt, his limited playing time has made him attractive to a number of clubs in Europe.

As reported by Fanatik, Xherdan Shaqiri is in demand by three clubs including Lazio, Sevilla and Fenerbahce. However, the report makes it clear that the Turkish club is most interested in signing him.

If he officially joins Fenerbahce, the Liverpool right winger will meet Mesut Ozil. The former Real Madrid himself left Arsenal and joined in January 2021.

As information, Xherdan Shaqiri still has a contract with the club from Merseyside until June 2023. However, with the lack of playing opportunities it is possible that he will be tempted to continue his football career at Fenerbahce.
