Zinedine Zidane refuses to be called The Special One

DBasia.news – Zinedine Zidane felt that he was not special, instead he said that he was lucky to be able to coach Real Madrid.

Zidane successfully brought Madrid to the La Liga season 2019/20, which is his 11th trophy collection as an interpreter of Los Blancos’ tactics.

Even so, the living legend of France rejected the nickname “Special One” which was pinned on him, the same nickname used by Jose Mourinho when describing himself.

“No, no. I don’t feel that way. I feel fortunate to be here with these players every day,” Zidane told a news conference.

“And being in this club, that’s why I feel lucky, and that’s why I enjoy it very much every day. Because one day it would be over, as it has already happened, but this time it is real.”

“That is why I enjoy and focus on these kinds of things.”

Madrid’s La Liga title is the first since 2016/17, when Cristiano Ronaldo strengthened the team.

Ahead of the league’s final season against Leganes, Monday (7/20) AM, Zidane praised his players for the success of being champions.

“I think every title we get is a team achievement, the players are involved all the time,” he continued.

“It should not ignore them, especially for this one, which is achieved in a complicated and difficult way. We fought to the end.”

“Now is the time to enjoy the achievements, but for football and everything, we have a match [against Leganes].”
