7 points Difference, Mats Hummels Frustated Catching up With Bayern Munich
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels is reportedly starting to give up chasing the Bundesliga title this season. The German defender thinks his club is too far behind the top standings, Bayern Munich.
Dortmund is currently ranked second in the Bundesliga standings with 57 points from 28 matches. They are seven points adrift of Hans Dieter Flick’s squad with six matches remaining.
“I think it is now up to Bayern to determine the title,” Hummels said as quoted from the BBC on Wednesday (5/27).
“We are seven points behind and cannot do anything but win our game.”
So frustrated, the 31-year-old defender hopes his former team will slip in the remainder of the Bundesliga matches this season.
“We hope they lose three times. We know how good they are,” he said.
The difference of seven points should not have happened if Dortmund were able to defeat Bayern on the 28th week of the Bundesliga on Tuesday (5/26) night WIB.
However, as is well known, good fortune is not in favor of Die Borussen. They narrowly lost 0-1 to Bayern in the Der Klassiker game.
Bayern midfielder’s sole goal, Joshua Kimmich (43′), caused Die Borussen to end the match point-less.
Furthermore, on Sunday (31/5), Dortmund will visit the headquarters of the caretaker team, Paderborn. This match is an important match that must be won by Dortmund to put pressure on Bayern.
