Adam Lallana’s final match with Liverpool

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The match against Bournemouth on March 7 would most likely be Adam Lallana’s last match with Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp as manager of the Reds intends to not continue to play the player until the end of this season.

This is quite strange considering that Lallana had just signed a short-term contract that kept him at Anfield until the end of the 2019-2020 season. The deal seemed wasteful.

But Klopp has a strong reason to take that decision. What is clear is that it’s not because the two didn’t get along.

In contrast, the German manager has a noble reason behind this decision. He wants to keep Lallana fit so it would be easier for him to find a new club after his contract with Liverpool expires.

“Now we have a difficult situation, I really respect that. Everything about Adam has been arranged and he is fit, training, everything is fine,” Klopp said.

“As long as we don’t need him, he will only practice. We will not risk anything with his future.”

Lallana does have a recurring injury that has made his performance decline dramatically in the last few seasons. This is what makes Klopp worried if he plays him in a few remaining matches even though it was not decisive.

The gesture shown by Klopp is evidence of the close emotional bond between the manager and the players. Naturally, the Liverpool players are also so loyal to him.

“I have missed everything about him even though he is still here. He is an extraordinary player, one of the most influential players in the quality of training I have had in my entire life,” he added.

“I wish him all the best in the future and, from my point of view, he has become a legend here.”

Lallana has strengthened Liverpool since 2014 after being brought in from Southampton. He has appeared in 178 matches in all competitions with a score of 22 goals and 22 assists.

It is not known which club Lallana will head to next season. It’s possible that he will return to Southampton or try his luck abroad.
