Liverpool Extends their Collaboration with Adam Lallana

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Liverpool officially extended Adam Lallana’s contract until the 2019-2020 Premiere League competition finished.

Lallana’s contract was due to expire on June 30, but the Premiere League and many sporting competitions in the world since mid-March has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the completion of the 2019/20 season delay.

The contract extension gave Lallana the chance to be part of Liverpool’s squad who are on the verge of ensuring the Premiere League title with just six points to go.

“I know how high the interest of many other clubs towards Lallana for next season is, this agreement shows his commitment to us and we really appreciate it,” Juergen Klopp said on the club’s official website.

“This is indeed what we were supposed to do, as I am pleased with the fact that he will finish this season with us and receive a proper farewell,” he added.

This season, Lallana only appeared in 22 matches with Liverpool in all competitions and mostly as a substitute.

Nevertheless, Lallana is considered to have a major role and influence to maintain the harmony of Liverpool’s locker room.

“It is difficult to find the right words to explain how important Adam Lallana is while I was manager of this club,” Klopp stated.

“His role is too important if we have to lose him before the season ends. So, this is a pleasant situation where we can postpone our gratitude at least until the end of July,” he concluded.

Lallana was brought in by Liverpool from Southampton in the summer of 2014 and has since scored 22 goals in 178 appearances.

Together with Liverpool, Lallana collected titles from the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

The Premiere League is scheduled to resume on June 17. Liverpool topped the standings with a collection of 82 points with a distance of 25 points from their nearest competitor.
