Adrian Will Continue to Fight and Forget His Fatal Blunders

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Adrian was called as the factor in Liverpool’s failure in the Champions League this season. Even so, this Liverpool’s goalkeeper substitute is not affected by the poor performance.

Adrian filled Alisson’s place who had to be benched because of injury when Liverpool hosted Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the last 16 round in March. In that match, Liverpool lost 2-3 and knocked out 2-4 on aggregate.

Georginio Wijnaldum’s first goal in the first half lasted until the end made the match continued into extra time. Liverpool then had the upper hand after Roberto Firmino enlarged the lead, but Atletico was able to score a goal back through Marcos Llorente’s legs which started with Adrian’s mistake.

The situation hit Liverpool, but became a turning point for Los Rojiblancos. Atletico completed their comeback with another two goals thanks to Llorente and substitute Alvaro Morata.

The defeat marked Liverpool’s last match before most of the competition in Europe was suspended due to the corona virus pandemic. Despite making a fatal mistake, Adrian did not allow himself to be dissolved in disappointment to help the Reds save the rest of the season.

“It is unfortunate about what happened in our last match because basically we are on the verge of escaping, but for one thing they can turn things around,” Adrian told Cope Sevilla.

“As goalkeepers, we are always at the limit – one minute we are heroes, the next minute we can become criminals. What we do has greater consequences than other players so we cannot make any mistakes.”

“I think we need to see the mistakes themselves, you can’t live without making mistakes. We can win a game, or lose and when we lose, we have to get up and move on.”

“I have worked hard to get here, and I will not let a bad decision or a wrong kick affect me until it makes me down,” Adrian said.
