Compliments did not Thrill Adrian when Against Napoli

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Dries Mertens and Fernando Llorente’s penalty gave Napoli a 2-0 win over Champions League defending victor, Liverpoo,l in the first match of the Champions League group F.

The visitors continued to lose at the Stadio San Paolo, after losing 0-1 in the previous season. The Reds had survived for quite a while with help from Adrian who did some brilliant rescues.

Despite receiving praise for the performance shown, the Spanish goalkeeper could not feel satisfied because in the end Jurgen Klopp’s team were unable to go home with positive results.

“My job as a goalkeeper is to try my best to prevent the ball from entering the goal to help the team. I did my best, trying hard. But in the end we lost 0-2, so I can’t feel thrilled. “We all understand that this will be a challenging match, just like last season,” Adrian said in a statement quoted from the official Liverpool website.

Adrian felt that Liverpool lost because of the small moments that occurred near the end of the match, starting from the controversial penalty that was converted by Dries Mertens.

The goal has made their players lose the structure of the game and opened up space for their opponents to score the second goal that ensured victory for Il Partenopei.
