DBasia.news – Al-Sadd successfully defeated the team from Oceania, Hienghene in the 2019 Club World Cup event. Because of this victory, the team under the care of Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez will continue to the quarter-finals.
Compete at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Thursday (12/12) early morning Western Indonesian Time, Al-Sadd won 3-1 through goals scored by Baghdad Bounedjah (26′), Abdelkarim Hassan (100′), and Ro-Ro (114′) who replied to a goal from Antoine Roine (46′).
The game is running tight. The 1-1 position lasts until normal time plus additional time ends in the second half. In the extra round, Al-Sadd, host of the 2019 Club World Cup, was able to score two additional goals.
Escaped to the quarter-finals, Al-Sadd will meet with a Mexican club, Monterrey. This club is far more dangerous than Hienghene because they have international players who strengthen the national team.
Some of the names are like Miguel Layun, Maximiliano Meza. and Jonathan Urretaviscaya, and former Dutch national team striker Vincent Janssen. The heavy duties await Xavi to bring Al-Sadd to go as far as possible in the Club World Cup.
“I know Monterrey, they have played very well after changing coaches. They are a fast team with a lot of players in attack and also good from a set piece situation. They are a very good team,” Xavi said on the official Al-Sadd website.
“If we play like today, the game will be very difficult for us, but today is our day, we can perform well,” he continued.
In the history of the Club World Cup, the hosts rarely advance to the finals and the best achievement is limited to reaching the semifinals before being run aground by European Champions League champions or Copa Libertadores.
Xavi’s dream slowly began to be realized. The former World Cup and European Cup winners with the Spanish national team hope Al-Sadd advances to the last four and meets Liverpool.
“A goal is in the semifinals, but you have to respect the whole team and they will be very respectful to us,” Xavi Hernandez said on FIFA’s official website.
