Alvaro Morata Responds to Criticism for Rarely Scoring a Goal

DBasia.news –  Alvaro Morata responded to the criticism directed at him. The Atletico Madrid striker stated that if he thought of himself, he would play tennis. The criticism was caused as he rarely scored goals during matches.

Atletico Madrid visited Deportivo Alaves headquarters at the Mendizorroza Stadium, Tuesday (29/10). Los Rojiblancos only brought home one point after playing 1-1.

Indeed Atletico Madrid took the lead in the 70th minute through Alvaro Morata. Unfortunately Alaves equalized seven minutes before the fight was over thanks to Lucas Perez.

Before the score came to a draw, Atletico Madrid had the opportunity to score a second goal. However, Alvaro Morata’s kick still failed to break down Alaves’ goal.

Alvaro Morata also received criticism after the game ended. The former Real Madrid striker admitted he was disappointed as he failed to score, despite giving a defense.

“When I think of myself, I will become a tennis player. I am just as disappointed as other people in the locker room,” Alvaro Morata stated after the match.

“Atletico Madrid has many opportunities and failed to make good use of them. For us, two points are very meaningful. However, now we have to wait for the results of other teams,” he continued.

Alvaro Morata’s performance was in the spotlight for Atletico Madrid supporters. The reason, Morata only collected four goals in 10 games with Los Rojiblancos.
