Antonio Conte Discusses the Poor Issue of Racism in Italy
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Returning to train in Italy made Antonio Conte, Inter Milan coach, surprised. He could not understand the worsening issue of racism in Italy.
One of Conte’s players, Romelu Lukaku, has even just become a victim of racism harassment that occurred when Inter won 2-1 over Cagliari. Lukaku, who became the executor of Inter penalty on 72 minutes, got racism harassment after breaking into Cagliari’s goal.
Cagliari fans shouted at Lukaku in a voice identical to monkeys. That action is certainly unforgivable because it’s not just this time Cagliari fans acting up. Previously Cagliari fans were also accused of doing the same thing to former Juventus player, Moise Kean.
But like the Kean case, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) also did not give punishment to Cagliari. That incident certainly makes Conte sad because football is a sport that has the right to be played by anyone without the restraints of skin color.
“All forms or insults are a problem. After three years had passed, I found things worse in Italy. I see a lot of hatred and hatred everywhere. We have to send a positive message and arouse competition,” Conte said, as quoted by the official Inter website.
