Argentina National Team Coach commented on Messi’s Decision to Stay at Barcelona

DBasia.news – Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni feels that Lionel Messi is in a peaceful condition after his transfer drama. He even supported Messi’s decision to stay at Barcelona.
The Argentinian football superstar has made a scene in the world of football as he wanted to leave Barca in August. However, Messi’s move never took place as the Spanish giants chuckled at his 700 million euros release clause to be fulfilled.
In the process, Messi finally chose to remain at Camp Nou until his contract expires in the summer of next year. In the 2020/2021 season, the six-time world player of the year has played in each of Barca’s first three matches under Ronald Koeman, scoring one goal and two assists.
Lionel Messi is now needed by Argentina to play two World Cup Qualification matches against Ecuador and Bolivia. Lionel Scaloni believes Messi’s decision to stay as something positive.
“I spoke to Leo when everything was resolved and I felt he was calm,” said Scaloni in a press conference ahead of the 2022 World Cup Qualifying duel against Ecuador quoted by ESPN.
“Since he came, we’ve talked a lot. He’s happy to be here. Now he feels comfortable at his club. What we want is that everything is resolved and for him to be able to play and be fit.”
“For us, it is a positive thing for him to stay because he can immediately play, he also knows the club. But in terms of decisions, we do not want to interfere. We do not want to enter the player area,” added Scaloni who commented on Lionel Messi.
