Argentine National Team Coach Monitors Mauro Icardi’s Development
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Mauro Icardi played sharply at PSG on loan from Inter Milan. Icardi has the chance to return to the Argentina squad. This has caught the attention of the Argentine national team coach, Lionel Scaloni. He himself is ready to open the door again for the 26-year-old player. Despite coming as an outcast, Icardi was in fact able to transform into a predator.
Ten games have been played throughout the season. From there, he managed to score nine goals. In details, four goals were scored in the Champions League and the rest in Ligue 1.
Icardi’s achievements did not escape Scaloni’s watch. The former Lazio and Deportivo de La Coruna player admitted he was considering calling Icardi back in the national team.
“Icardi is the player we have in mind. “He played again and gathered momentum after not doing so at the end of last season, and it is important that he scored,” Scaloni said at Soccerway.
“He is always on our agenda, but not for now, as there are others who are doing well. Whenever he can come back. The door is always open for the best, “Scaloni added.
The last time Icardi was called up to the
Argentine national team was before the 2019 Copa America. He entered the
temporary squad of 40 people but was eventually dropped out and not included in
the tournament.
