By db-admin

DBasia.news – Kepa Arrizabalaga was not played in Chelsea’s last Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.  That can happen in the FA Cup final against Arsenal.

The 2019-20 season could be the last period of Kepa Arrizabalaga with Chelsea.  The Spanish goalkeeper is believed to be released because his performance is not comparable to the price paid by the Blues.

Chelsea recruited Kepa in 2018 from Athletic Bilbao for 80 euros as well.  The official price that makes Kepa the most expensive goalkeeper in the world.  However, the performance of 25-year-old player was not as expected.

Kepa has conceded 51 times from a total of 54 matches and only recorded 23 clean sheets.  He also made a fatal blunder during the League Cup final which led to Chelsea losing on penalties 3-4 to Manchester City.

This season, Kepa’s performance has declined.  He has conceded 58 times from 41 parties in total with 10 clean sheets.  Lampard even had a chance to reserve Kepa and chose Willy Caballero as a starter until the competition was stopped due to the corona virus pandemic.

When the competition continued, Kepa was again trusted as the main goalkeeper.  But, out of the seven matches he has played, only two Kepa have not conceded.  The highlight of Chelsea’s disappointment was the match against Liverpool at Anfield Stadium.

Now Kepa is not expected to be deployed when Chelsea face Arsenal in the FA Cup final.  Reported by the Mirror, Kepa saw that as a sign of his work at Stamford Bridge, it was just a matter of days.

At first Chelsea called still hesitant to release the expensive goalkeeper who bought it.  But Sportsmail reported that Chelsea are reportedly willing to let Kepa go if someone bids 50 million pounds.

While waiting for Kepa to be sold, Chelsea’s technical and performance director Petr Cech, who is also a former goalkeeper, was tasked with finding the right figure to replace Kepa.

There are several names that are mentioned in the coveted Chelsea book.  Among the names are Burnley goalkeepers Nick Pope, Andre Onana (Ajax) and Dean Henderson (Manchester United).
