Arsenal Had Wanted To Recruit Courtois and Hazard

DBasia.news –  Arsenal had the chance to recruit two Belgian national team stars, Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard. This was stated by Arsenal’s former scout, Dick Law.

Dick Law worked for Arsenal for 13 years in the 2005 to 2018 period. Several talented young players came to the headquarters of the Gunners thanks to Law’s recommendations.

Not only guiding talent, but Dick Law also became the mediator of Arsenal’s transfer process with the recommended old club players. In fact, he also helped with recruiting contract negotiations.

Unfortunately, not all the young players recommended by Dick Law came to Arsenal. Several players failed to dock at the Emirates Stadium for several reasons.

These included Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois. According to Dick Law, Arsenal did not dare to take risks to bring the two players from Belgium.

“Arsenal have financial capabilities. However, the risk from the calculation is not clear. Spending money on players does not always go well for the club’s finances,” said Dick Law.

“Did Arsenal lose several players? Of course. I remember being in the room with Steve Rowley, Ivan Gazidis and Arsene Wenger discussing Thibaut Courtois. We knew he was good.”

“Eden Hazard is also like that, we want to recruit him. However, we have to run Arsenal with responsibility in every transfer money. It was very difficult,” he added.

Now, Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have become a star in the Belgian national team. Both are also defending the rich Spanish team, Real Madrid.
