Arsenal Boss Can’t Confirm Thomas Partey and Aubameyang for Liverpool Game

DBasia.news – Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Thomas Partey and Pierre-Emerick need to be reassessed ahead of the Premier League Big Match against Liverpool on Saturday (20/11) evening CEST.

Thomas Partey missed the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Watford earlier this month with a groin problem and withdrew from the Ghana squad for the November international break.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal in Gabon’s 1-0 win against Libya last Friday, but left the pitch on a stretcher after the final whistle.

The 32-year-old striker was then left out of the Gabon squad for the next World Cup qualifier against Egypt and returned to Arsenal’s London Colney training base early.

Although it was stated on the club’s official website on Thursday (18/11) yesterday that apart from Sead Kolasinac and Granit Xhaka, all the rest of the first team are fit and available for selection against Liverpool, Arteta could not confirm whether Partey or Aubameyang could feature for the match. .

“He can’t play for the national team,” Arteta said of Partey on Friday (19/11) in his pre-match press conference, quoted from Metro.

“He was very tired to do it and pushed to play in the game but it wasn’t enough. Again, that’s something we have to reassess because until today he hasn’t done enough.”

“No, it was not planned in advance,” added the Spaniard of Aubameyang’s early return from international duty with Gabon.

“We have to assess him and see how he is before making a decision. We have a lot of players going through different game problems. Minor injury.”
