AS Roma wants to overtake Barcelona to sign Memphis Depay

DBasia.news – AS Roma tried to overtake Barcelona in signing Memphis Depay into the transfer market this summer.

After being appointed to handle Barcelona, Ronald Koeman seemed to want to bring in the Dutch aroma to the Catalonia club One of the ways is to bring in a number of names of former players to the Dutch national team.

Depay is one of the targets. The Olympique Lyon winger can be considered to enrich the colors of Barcelona’s attacks.

Lyon itself has no objection to releasing Depay. The failure to qualify for the Champions League is one of the reasons.

President of Lyon, Jean-Michel Aulas warned Barcelona to immediately complete the transfer of Depay. He admitted that he also received offers from other clubs.

“Barcelona is not the only club, because there is Rome too,” Aulas told Get French Football News.

Barcelona certainly had to be aware of Aulas’s warning. Rome, who has now changed owners, is certainly stronger from a financial standpoint.

The Friedkin Group, which now owns a majority of the shares in Rome, is determined to restore the Giallorossi’s big name. One way is of course by bringing in a number of star players.

Depay’s value is estimated at 25 million euros. This amount is relatively low for a versatile player who is still 26 years old.
