Asensio’s Amazing Position in Real Madrid
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Real Madrid gained the 3-1 victory against Juventus in the friendly preseason match in FedEx Field, Maryland, US. Marco Asensio presented two goals for Madrid in the second round. While the other goal came from Gareth Bale.
Entering the second round, Asensio who played as false nine or fake-striker became the main attacker of Los Blancos. No wonder, Asensio’s performance in this match raised an option that might be used by coach Julen Lopetegui for this season.
Following the exit of the main goal supplier, Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, Madrid often related to Neymar and Robert Lewandowski. But until now, they don’t have the goal supplier with the same power as Ronaldo.
Lopetegui is perhaps trying to find a new formula for Madrid in order to play deadly without Ronaldo. One of them is by playing Asensio as the false nine.
“It’s an option. Pre-season is a time when we can test different things and what we need to do is look for resources or different ideas within the team,” Lopetegui said.
“It was good to see him play at that position and he played extremely well. It’s not important where he plays but how he plays.”
