Associated with Bayern, Pep Guardiola is still happy at Man City

DBasia.news –  Manchester City’s coach, Pep Guardiola said he is still happy at the club when he was linked with news that he would return to coach Bayern Munich. The Citizens are currently fourth in the English Premier League, their lowest position since the end of Guardiola’s first season in 2017.

Their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool two weeks ago left City nine points behind the Reds in the standings.

“Why do people think I’m unhappy? Because we lost at Anfield or have I lost three matches this season?” Guardiola said ahead of the match against Chelsea on Sunday (11/24).

“That’s a strange reason to say I’m not happy or satisfied, I want to survive.”

After winning the English league twice in a row and setting a record of goals and points last year, Guardiola insisted he liked the “challenge” this season.

City broke the English Premier League record points in the 2017-18 season when they became the first club in league history to be able to win 100 points during the season.

They needed 98 points last season to beat Liverpool in the title race.

Guardiola is aware that he will find it difficult to make City join Huddersfield, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United as clubs capable of winning the English league three times in a row.

However, that only sparked Guardiola’s enthusiasm and he intends to honor his contract with City, which expires in 2021.
