Atletico Madrid Loses One of Its Best Managers

DBasia.news – Atletico Madrid are currently in mourning. As Los Rojiblancos has lost one of their best manager, Radomir Antic. Radomir Antic passed away on Monday (06/04) local time.
Antic died at the age of 71 due to illnesses. But it is not known in detail what he suffered.
Radomir Antic handled Atletico Madrid on three occasions in the period 1995 to 2000. The Serbian coach successfully won the double titles of La Liga and Copa del Rey in the 1995/96 season which dubbed him to be the best coach at that time.
Radomir Antic’s services did not stop there. He also managed to save Atletico from the threat of relegation on the second chance to deal with the team during the 1998-1999 La Liga season, with eleven matches remaining.
This has made him be respected by Atletico. Real Madrid city rivals did not even hesitate to call him a legendary coach in their condolence message.
“Atletico Madrid’s extended family mourns the departure of Radomir Antic, one of our legendary managers. You will continue to live in all of our hearts. Rest in peace, “read Atletico’s official statement.
The Serbian Football Federation (FSS) also paid ther last respects. Radomir Antic has handled the Serbian national team in the 2010 World Cup.
“Everyone who knows Radomir Antic will definitely feel a great loss and Serbia can be proud of having had a representative figure in the international world and makes us all feel proud,” the FSS official statement said.
Antic’s coaching career was colorful as he had also handled Real Madrid (1991-1992) and Barcelona (2003). Which makes him the only coach to date who has handled three of Spain’s big clubs.
