DBasia.news – Thursday (11/07/2019) AM, at Atalanta’s turf, Manchester United achieved a draw with Manchester City. However, Benjamin Mendy was grateful for the result. He specifically thanked Kyle Walker.
Benjamin Mendy was thankful for Kyle Walker’s courage in being the goalkeeper when Claudio Bravo was sent off by the referee in the 81st minute. Despite having to keep the goal for around 16 minutes, the right-back was able to make Atalanta fail to score.
“I continue, ‘Thank you, Kyle.’ It’s not easy to take responsibility by going in and being a goalkeeper. Then he saved a free kick, “Benjamin Mendy stated as quoted on the official UEFA website.
One of Kyle Walker’s actions was to save the free kick obtained by Atalanta. He calmly held Ruslan Malinovskyi’s execution with his chest!
On a visit to the San Siro which was the headquarters of Atalanta throughout the Champions League this season, Manchester City faced a serious problem in the position of the goalkeeper. At the beginning of the second half, Ederson Moraes had to be replaced by Claudio Bravo due to a minor injury.
The drama occurred only nine minutes before the
match between Atalanta vs Manchester City was over. Bravo received a red card
after violating Josip Ilicic. As a solution, Pep Guardiola played Kyle Walker
at the expense of Riyad Mahrez.
