Celta players drives to Denmark despite lockdown

DBasia.news –  Celta winger, Vigo Pione Sisto, violated the Spanish government’s lockdown order, driving to Denmark before informing his team, a source told ESPN.

The Danish national team player was in Vigo to undergo isolation after the Spanish government extended the state of emergency until April 11 to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

As there were no more flights open, the 25-year-old footballer was driving for 26 hours to cover a distance of 2,830 kilometers.

Once in his destination, Sisto told Celta about his whereabouts. A source told ESPN they were resolving the problem internally.

The Spanish government, which has repeatedly warned the importance of not traveling unless for important reasons and a fine of 600 euros, would charge drivers who violated the rules without a valid reason.

Sisto was born in Uganda but moved to Denmark at the age of two months old. He has made 100 appearances for Celta, including 19 league matches this season, since joining the La Liga club in 2016 from the Danish club, Midtjylland.

He made headlines in May 2019 when announcing on social media that for 21 consecutive days he followed a diet of only eating fruits to stay in shape.

However, unlike the reports, he was not fined for carrying out the diet.
