Charlie Taylor Threatened to be Absent when Against Manchester City
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Bad news has come from Burnley, after defender, Charlie Taylor, will likely miss the Premier League match against defending champions, Manchester City. Burnley’s manager, Sean Dyche hopes the problem will be resolved quickly and not worsen.
The 26-year-old left-back suffered the injury before half-time when Burnley lost 0-2 at home to Crystal Palace last Saturday.
“The initial reaction was not that serious,” Dyche told a news conference as quoted by Reuters.
“We pulled him out as soon as we could to prevent it from getting even worse. I will wait and see what the physiotherapist tells me.”
Erik Pieters, who replaced Taylor in the match, suffered a blow near the end of the match but Dyche was optimistic the Dutch player had recovered during a trip to Manchester City.
Ashley Westwood is doubted due to groin issues, while fellow midfielder, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, recovered from a hamstring injury he received while competing for the Icelandic national team.
Burnley
is ranked 10th in the standings by packing 18 points from 14 matches.
