Chelsea has Difficult to win the Premier League with Arrizabalaga
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea will find it challenging to win the Premier League as long as Kepa Arrizabalaga remains.
Jamie Carragher equals Chelsea’s current condition to that of Liverpool in the early Jurgen Klopp era. At that time Liverpool had Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, who were uqualified.
With a makeshift goalkeeper, Liverpool failed to become a champion despite overall good performance. Liverpool can only become champions when they brought in Alisson Becker. Together with Alisson the Reds have won the Champions League and Premier League.
From the statistics, Chelsea is currently the team with the highest number of goals in the top six in the Premier League with 54 goals. “Chelsea will not go far unless they replace their goalkeeper,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“I saw Chelsea and there were many things I liked. They reminded me a lot of Jurgen Klopp’s position a few years ago,” Carragher continued.
Reported by Squawka, Kepa Arrizabalaga is the worst goalkeeper in five elite European leagues. During this season Kepa only recorded 53.5 percent of rescue. This record is the worst of the goalkeepers with 25 or more appearances this season.
The statistical record is far compared to other Premier League goalkeepers. Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno was able to record 77.6 percent, Alisson (72.7 percent), and Kasper Schmeichel (74.2 percent).
Carragher added, besides the goalkeeper, the Blues needed a defender related to the number of goals that goes into their goal this season.
“The number of goals depend on the goalkeeper. You also see a lot of central defenders at Chelsea, nothing really extraordinary. That’s an area that must be addressed if you want to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City,” stated Carragher. Chelsea currently ranks fourth in the standings by collecting 63 points. They are still competing fiercely with Manchester United and Leicester City to secure Champions League tickets.
