Chelsea has Difficulty obtaining Jan Oblak
By db-admin
DBasia.news – It is rumored that Chelsea will have difficulty bringing in Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak as of his high price. In the back line, especially the goalkeeping post, has been Chelsea’s weak point in the 2019/2020 season.
Oblak is Chelsea’s main game in the goalkeeping position. The Atletico Madrid player is considered to be able to make Frank Lampard’s team’s goal more difficult to break into next season.
The goalkeeper also welcomed the interest with enthusiasm. Oblak wants to experience other competitions after six seasons appearing in LaLiga.
However, this plan was hampered by the high price set by Atletico. Los Rojiblancos are only willing to let go of their flagship goalkeeper by breaking the transfer record.
The record for the world’s most expensive goalkeeper is currently still held by Kepa. He was purchased by Chelsea in the summer of 2018 for 80 million.
That means, Chelsea must spend more than 80 million euros to purchase Oblak. Something that the London club seems reluctant to do.
Reported by the Daily Star, Chelsea has chosen to divert its aim from Oblak. Two other names that they have targeted are Andre Onana and Nick Pope.
The value of the two goalkeepers is believed to be lower than Oblak. But whether they are what Chelsea needs, only Lampard knows.
But this could be just a bluff for Atletico. It is possible that they will reduce Oblak prices in order to obtain large profits.
